Very interesting summary! 1985 is an interesting year because the textile mills were finally closed. However, that decision followed the date of the meeting and is described at length in the 1985 letter, published in early 1986.

Yep, 1985 was a pretty pivotal year. The World-Herald article doesn't mention the big Capital Cities/ABC investment, either, though I have to imagine there were some questions about that at the meeting. The newspaper article is great and all, but I would kill for a full transcript!
