Great post, i like what you write and your style. Keep it up. My sense is that Combs is a bit overrated, perhaps I am wrong, but he is doing many things at the same time and few are not working well so far.
Is investing in tech stocks within your circle of competence, Stefano? Many savvy tech investors have large holdings in SNOW. Consider Dennis Lynch at CPODX, it is his largest holding.
I am not sure why my competence in Tech investing is relevant. Based on their past experience neither Todd nor Ted had significant Tech experience either. If you look at CPODX holdings they are essentially a collection of "hot stock" many of which are very hard to value no matter how is your technology competence. If you want to read a positive take on SNOW check https://youngmoneycap.substack.com/p/snowflake and if you like to have a more nuanced analysis check this https://research.contrary.com/reports/databrick-vs-snowflake
SNOW CEO (Slootman) is very promotional not my style, but he may be good to sell the company at some point who knows. cheers
Thank you for sharing. In my humble opinion, technology is within the circle of competence of Dennis Lynch & his team at Morgan Stanley, as well as Chase Coleman (another investor in SNOW) at Tiger Global, which is best known for its tech investments. Given the character of Todd Combs & the culture at Berkshire, I am confident he carefully researched this investment.
Larry and Sergey met with Warren Buffett to ask his advice on a dual class structure pre ipo. So I can see why Buffett feels like he missed out given the direct experience as a customer and knowing these brilliant guys personally!

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words!

Thanks for putting this together! I was looking for just such a summary.
