We were behind and skipping through most commercials and I was “tricked” into hitting play for the Duracell ad! Very clever of them. It was interesting to see a BRK company pay up for a Super Bowl spot but I’m sure Buffett allows the CEOs to decide on that!

I read that Duracell worked with Fox to make sure it would be the last commercial of that particular break just so that people would think the game was really re-starting. That's one way to make your commercial memorable!

It was really good. Although I admit to thinking to myself, "Did Warren know about this and how much it must have cost for the talent and air time!" lol...

Wow! What an interestin' fact. I didn't know Mr. Mario visited The Oracle of Omaha to sell his "Plumber business".xD

Yeah, this was the first I had ever heard of Berkshire's interest in Nintendo. Makes sense to me — Nintendo's brand seems like it would fit right in at Berkshire. I wish it had happened.

I could understand Warren’s interest in Nintendo. Still wouldn’t be surprised if he or Berkshire took a stake in the company.

I enjoyed the William Green interview with Terry Smith as well. It was interesting and entertaining. Green is a terrific interviewer.

Yes, I really love listening to William Green’s podcast. Always such great conversations with interesting characters.

Re: Nintendo, I was kind of hoping that Berkshire would use some of the proceeds from the recent yen-denominated debt sales to invest in Nintendo. I’m not ready to throw in the towel on that dream yet!

I remember that Buffett said that selling Disney too early was a mistake. He may see the quality in Nintendo which is reminiscent of Disney with characters, movies, games and now the advent of a theme park. Also the company has a fortress balance sheet. Just a thought.

I’d love to see it. I completely agree about Nintendo being similar to Disney.

I believe there were no GEICO or Progressive ads- has that been typical?

You’re right — it seems that insurance companies sat out this year’s Super Bowl. This article says it’s part of reduced advertising across the industry. https://www.sportico.com/business/sponsorship/2025/state-farm-super-bowl-reduced-insurance-spend-1234825710/

Loved seeing Brady and Berkshire team up! Also I got really excited seeing Mario on cover, I thought the 13F came out.

Ah, sorry, I didn't even think about what that picture might suggest on 13F day! 🤣
