There’s a lot of Charlie Munger in this statement, and it is very true:

“The world is going to disappoint you,” warned Wright. “You’re probably going to fail more than you succeed — in anything. That’s just the way it works. Life is iteration. It is, by and large, trial and error. No one has ever lived your life before.”

It's also the process of learning a business "from the bottom up" and, as you rise, seeing it "from the top down" and integrating a thorough understanding of it all to obtain Win/Win relations at every level of your organization and its outside relations: management, workers, suppliers, buyers, shareholders, regulators, government.
