I get a bit curious when people try to predict what Mr. Buffet is going to do (in this case resuming the buyback of stock). I have owned Brk for several decades and not once did I see something coming that he pulled off. Not a single instance. Maybe someone else has random luck but that is hard to bet on. It was something Mr. Buffett said many years ago that convinced me to stop trying to figure out how his head works (not an exact quote but he jist is accurate): I don't know why people try to mimic what Brk does. I guess buying the stock is too easy.
That thought put a lot of money in my pocket and changed my life.
Hi Mike - I agree completely. It's much more enjoyable (and profitable) to study the actual actions from Berkshire than to try to guess what's coming next. I often get inundated with questions asking what Buffett will do next and I always say I've got no clue - and would surely be wrong if I did offer a guess. 🤣
