Thanks Kevin for setting out 2026 with a fine tone.
As for resolutions, I forgot and left mine in 2025. I’ll try to do better next year. I trust you will be more successful and look forward to you weekly missives! Happy New Year!
I still have one question about the departure of Todd Combs. Did he take anybody with him? I hope that during his time at Berkshire he was a mentor for several managers who now poses skills which will help with management of the portfolio.
We always hear about the big names, but very little about their assistants and protégés.
I wish that we knew more about the next generation and level of executives and leaders, too. I do wonder that if under Abel -- and with Buffett more in the background -- more of the spotlight and attention will be on the individual managers of the subsidiaries. It would be nice to get a better feel for the people who will shape Berkshire in the decades to come.
I can't wait to see how it all turns out. The next few years will be fascinating to see how Abel balances keeping Berkshire steady as she goes but also mixing in his own ideas.
Good stuff as always, Kevin. Happy New Year!
Thanks John! Happy New Year!

I have a whole batch of untouched resolutions left over from last year. Why do I need new ones?
My resolutions almost always come out of the "failed" pile from past years, haha.
Happy New Year, Arthur! I'm feeling optimistic (at least so far)!
Thank you. Wish you a happy new year with many wonderful posts such as this one
Thanks! Happy New Year, Luis!

An era has ended. Now we'll see what Abel's era at the helm of BRK will be like.
